Star GB Sliding Head Lathes – Tridan Engineering Case Study
Tridan were one of the first contract manufacturers in the UK to purchase the latest in sliding head technology. The Star ST38 will allow us to bar feed up to 40mm Diameter, with a headstock stroke of 350mm, coupled with a 3 metre bar feed capacity, with a 30off working tool station.
The video (to the right) explains why we chose to move into the sliding head market, detailing one specific job for the medical sector. Before the purchase of the ST38, manufacturing time was 64 minutes, with seven different operations. We now produce this component in one operation at 50% of the time.
Yet again, Tridan are again buying the latest technology in our field and will continue to invest to give our customers the best deal with price/delivery in the contract manufacturing sector.
