This year has seen some major changes throughout the business and following on from the building of our new assembly area the next point of focus was the Production Control offices.
With the current high demand on aerospace and defence work, this has increased the workload of Production Control and especially the requirements for additional paperwork and documentation that is essential with each part that we manufacture under our EN9100 certification.
The upgrade was to focus on improving our operational efficiencies to help meet our growing customer demands and to provide a modern comfortable workspace for all team members.
Plans were made for an improvement in another part of the business (details to come in Part 3) and as such the Production Control Offices had no choice but to be relocated! A new space was found and approved for use.
The removal of the works canteen as a suitable space for Production Control.
A blank canvas ensured that we could create a great workspace to suit the needs of the business and its personnel. The refurbishment involved a complete overhaul of facilities, gone, is the cramped workspace with hard flooring and cold draughts from the goods in doors.
Now, with a new production office and open plan area for the rest of the team. Improved lighting, air conditioning, new carpets and additional windows added along with new desks, chairs and monitor stands has helped to make this a great environment for all to work in.
