Tridan have 2 types of Sliding Head machines.

A Star ST-38, one of the largest in its class of sliding head machines. It has the capability of holding 70 tools split between 3 indexable turrets. Live tooling is used to enable the full mill/turn package. A 3-meter bar feed with a maximum bar diameter of 38.0mm opens up the option for larger parts to be processed in one operation. As well as a parts catcher, it also has a conveyor belt to assist with the larger parts that require ejecting from the machine.

The 2nd Sliding head is a Star SR-20 JII Type B platen machine, purposely added to look after larger quantity parts under 20mm diameter. This machine represents the latest evolution in 20mm sliding head machining – and the most advanced technology of its type on the market, combining a 6-tool turning platen, a 5-spindle cross drilling unit and an 8-spindle back working tool post. The machine features dovetail slideways for the X1, Y1, Z2 and Y2 axes improving the machine’s rigidity – ensuring stable, repeatable results even when cutting the most challenging materials.

All of these features help with the continuous undisturbed running (lights out) to help improve productivity.
