CNC Sliding Head– Setter / Operator / Programmer – Night Shift

Mon – Wed 21:00 – 07:30
Thurs 20:00 – 05:30 (Shift premium applies).

Due to continued growth and an increasing order book, we are currently looking for a skilled CNC Sliding Head setter / operator / programmer to join our highly skilled nightshift team.
You will have a proven track record in setting / programming & operating CNC Sliding Head machines and have a desire to grow with an employee focused company that is a key supplier to multiple blue-chip companies within the Aerospace, Marine, Automotive, Food and Medical sectors.

You will have the ability to be an efficient problem solver who can work under their own initiative whilst remaining a key team player within the department, be able to set, program and run CNC Sliding Heads in a timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining high levels of attention to detail, as well as ensuring that company Health & Safety is adhered to.

Job Title: CNC Sliding Head– Setter / Operator / Programmer – Night Shift
Responsible To: Lead Supervisor

Main Purpose of the Job

To set and run CNC Sliding Head machines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set and run CNC Sliding Heads as efficiently as possible.
  • Work to Company instructions and drawings.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety procedures.

 

Key Tasks Defined

  •  Set and run CNC Sliding Heads following the company’s quality and work procedures.
  • In cycle running of other machinery as and when required.
  • Be able to inspect own work.
  • Update tooling sheets and record cycle times.
  • Assist other setter operators to become more efficient.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety.

 

This is not an exhaustive list, and you are required to be flexible in your approach to carrying out your duties, which may change from time to time to reflect changes in the Company’s approach to a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Knowledge of various machines and controls.
  • Understand capabilities of tools and materials.
  • Able to inspect own work.
  • Team player.

 

Advantageous qualifications or knowledge required.

  • A suitable engineering apprenticeship 
  • Knowledge of Turret and Platten Sliding Heads.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
